<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Specific features of the transfer of persistent toxic substances (РTS) across ecological trophic chains in the conditions of the Arctic tundra are considered. The concept of “dirty dozen” is discussed in relation to the most common РTS. The danger of РTS accumulation in tissues and organs of higher predators and humans for their health in the context of global warming is assessed. The concept of “health as a single unity” is proposed, aimed at preserving all links of the Arctic food web and, ultimately, improving the health and well-being of people.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>стойкие токсичные вещества</kwd><kwd>трофические цепи</kwd><kwd>высшие хищники</kwd><kwd>здоровье людей и животных в тундре</kwd><kwd>изменение климата</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>persistent toxic substances</kwd><kwd>food chains</kwd><kwd>top predators</kwd><kwd>human and animal health in the tundra</kwd><kwd>climate change</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Исследования выполнены в рамках государственного задания, проект FSZU-2023- 0002 (РГГМУ)/</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Одум Ю.
